I love sewing. I especially love embroidery. And, that got me thinking, "Why don't I have embroidered items on my shop?" I would love to spend more time hand sewing, but I am running out of things to embroider for myself (so I need to be able to give it to other people, haha).
I really want to make personalized, made-to-order products. I want the buyer to feel like they are receiving something made just for them.
I did some state pillows as a wedding gift a while back, and kinda fell in love with the idea of doing some state themed designs. I especially love the idea of having a collection of all the states you have lived in or visited. I plan on putting them on pillows, tote bags, or ready to be framed for a wall hanging. What else would you like to see them on? They could translate well into some wedding invitations, save the dates, or moving announcements?
For the pillows, the fabric is a vanilla color, and the embroidery will be done in a color specified by the buyer. It will have a matching piping, and patterned back as an accent. All will be customizable for the buyer. Buyers will also be able to put a heart (or custom symbol) over a certain city.
Below are all the designs. I wanted the transition of the outline and the name to be seamless, like it was from the same piece of string. I was very thoughtful about where to put the name of the state, so that it didn't differ too much from the original shape.
