"What Do You Do While You Sew?"

Hello Friends!

Something a little different on the blog today. No DIY or Etsy stuff.

One of my most asked "etsy questions" (which could be whole a post in it self) is "Wow, you hand embroider those. That must take a long time. What do you do while you are sewing?"

There are 3 things I like to do while sewing:
• Listing to movie scores
• Watching light-hearted television
• Watching YouTube

Today, we are talking about YouTube. But let me know if in the future you would like to see a list of my favorite movie scores or tv shows.

Let's just jump right in.

1. Kayley Melissa

Kayley is reason I watch YouTube. I found her channel one day, and was instantly hooked. I'm pretty sure she's the first channel I ever subscribed to. Not only are her hairstyles creative and fun, but she explains how to do them very clearly. Her personality is bubbly and friendly, and very enjoyable to listen to (You almost feel like you're friends! Does that make me lame for saying that? haha). She does mostly "everyday" hairstyles but also does some updos and costume hairstyles as well. Every now and then she will do a make up tutorial or DIY video.

2. KathleenLights

Kathleen is another person I feel like I would be friends with in real life. She has a great, funny personality. She has a really good mix of high end and drug store make up looks along with everyday and special occasion looks. I feel like we have similar taste in products, so I know if she recommends something, I will most likely like it too. She has also made some create collaboration products with brands like Ofra and Colourpop. Her liquid lipstick "Miami Fever" is my favorite of LIFE!

3. pixiwoo

The pixiwoo sisters are great at explaining their makeup tutorials in great detail. Their videos run a little longer, but you learn so much more technical (and helpful) information for that makeup look. They often give tips for adjustment depending on your own features or skin tones. Plus, they are also the creators of The Real Techniques makeup brushes. They are affordable and some of the best brushes on the market.

4. Tati | GlamLifeGuru
The great thing about Tati's channel is that she puts out content 5 times a week. I don't necessarily share her taste when it comes to make up looks, but I enjoy watching her product reviews. She is always the first to review or show off new products on the market. Lately her channel has felt a little gimmicky, but she still has some great stuff. Her "Whats new at the drug store" and "Whats new at Sephora" are probably my favorite to watch. (Also, she is originally from Seattle.)

5. Makeup Geek

Makeup Geek has such a unique perspective to the makeup industry. She is CEO of her own makeup company, so her reviews on products go beyond just what you see on the shelves. She critiques packaging, ingredients, locations they are produced, and more. Some of her best video series are her "Hot New Products" and her "Current Obsessions." She also have a newer series called "Pretty Smart" that is more about makeup education. She is huge advocate for representing all skin tones on the market, and I think that is awesome. Its crazy to see how many brands leave out fair and deep skin tones. I have yet to get my hands on some Makeup Geek products, but they are at the top of my wish list for Christmas.

Other Channels I Love:
Jaclyn Hill - Gotta love that Champagne Pop!
Fleur DeForce - I love her fashion style!
Silvousplaits - All the fantasy hairstyles you could ever need!
Lisa Eldridge - She's Kate Winslet's makeup artist, need I say more?
Hair Romance - Curly Hair Goddess! I have learned so much about my own curly hair.
I will watch the occasional Zoella and Tanya Burr videos as well.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. Now go check out some of these awesome creators.
Let me know if you follow any channels you would think I'd enjoy!
